How to Maintain Your Artificial Grass

The idea of maintaining an artificial turf installation may seem daunting at first, but it is actually more simple than most think. Ease of use is one of the main advantages of installing synthetic grass. The following are our tips for keeping your lawn in its best shape.

Artificial Grass RecyclingFlush the Area

Hose down with water at least once a week to clean off any debris. A garden hose or pressure washer will work. However, if you use a pressure washer we recommend keeping the nozzle at least one foot away from the grass to prevent damaging the blades. Also, when rinsing off your lawn make sure to evenly saturate the area. This will keep the entire lawn looking clean and uniform.

Rake the Area

Rake or sweep your lawn to keep the infill evenly dispersed and free of debris. You can also use a leaf blower for any dust and debris. Removing foliage will also help keep the lawn free of any elements that can prevent proper drainage.

Use Natural Cleaning Solutions

If there’s an area that is soiled, you can use an environmentally friendly cleaning solution to rid the space of any odors or stains. Make sure to rinse heavily with water to remove all cleansers. We usually recommend diluting the cleaning solution to protect the turf material. If you are removing pet odors from your lawn, a solution consisting of vinegar and water works best. Tip: Spills that are still damp are much easier to clean. Clean the soiled area before it dries, or risk damaging the grass.
